Coaching proposes concrete objectives, congruent with the areas where it is applied (Business, Life, Sport), such as:

  • developing a good relationship between the coach and the client;

  • developing the client's potential;

  • gaining access to a high performance state at the appropriate time;

  • defining concrete and achievable objectives, congruent with the mission;

  • increasing  positive  results.

 Who is the Coach?

The coach is a process expert whose main objective is to assist and guide the client or a group in achieving personal and professional objectives in Business, Life and Sport, through  specific skills and abilities: linguistic, behavioural and relation. The coach is able to adapt him flexibly to the situation, to the client and to the group necessities.

A coach will be able to develop fine skills in order to:

ć      establish a deep relationship with the client based on rapport

ć      flexibly adjust his own behaviour according to the situation/client/objective;

ć      calibrate exquisitely the client’s behaviors and responses as the basis for effective interventions

ć      elicite the client's answers useful to define his own objectives properly;

ć      manage both verbal e non verbal communication;

ć      specify declared objectives and challenge their congruency through definite techniques and strategies;

ć      develop sense of humour;

ć      great sense of professional ethic.

The topics preliminarily selected by Bostic and Grinder for presentation include the following:

§     a series of situational puzzles in which the participants are presented with concret  situations typical of the coaching encounter. Their task is to appreciate what the obstacle to be overcome in these situations is and and to select and apply the appropriate pattern(s) of intervention to move past this obstacle;

§   a simplified and highly effective model of verbal interactions (the Verbal Package) to manage effectively the verbal exchanges between coach and client;

§  the goal setting processes - in this presentation, the participants will be guided through the patterning for setting goals themselves. Obviously, they will also learn the procedures avaiable for applications to their own clients;

§   multiple descriptions including 3rd positions as presented in triple description to ensure that  the coaching process always generates a robust range of perceptions and therefore a corresponding robust range of interventions;

§    the nature of the relationship between coach and client - forms of contract and procedures for organizing the coach/client relationship;

§   the form/process versus content/substance distinction essential to an ethical application of NLP patterning

§  a wide range of interventions appropriate for coaches to offer to their clients in order to them to achieve their goals including: Walk with Grace and Power - Collapsing spatial anchors -  new code games

§   the development of and application of access to unconscious process as an essential part of the coaching encounter

§  clean-up of the coaching performance - a series of exercises in creating an elegant style as a coach.
